Privacy Policy
This policy is drafted as a working document for launch and is flagged for attorney review within 30 days of publishing. It is not a substitute for legal advice.
Who we are
Modesto HVAC Pros operates this website. We are a referral platform — see our About page for a full description of what we do and don't do. This policy explains what information we collect through the site and how it's used and shared.
Information we collect
When you use our contact form, we collect the information you provide directly — name, phone number, ZIP code, service needed, and any details you enter. We also collect standard site analytics data (pages visited, general location by IP, device/browser type) through analytics tools when enabled.
SMS / text message opt-in
If you check the SMS consent box on our contact form, you agree to receive text messages from Modesto HVAC Pros and/or the independent contractor(s) matched to your specific request, about that request. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of using our service or making a purchase.
How we share your information
We are a referral service, not a contractor. When you submit a request, we share your contact information and request details only with the specific independent HVAC contractor(s) needed to fulfill that request — Modesto HVAC Pros and the specific independent HVAC contractor(s) matched to your request. If your information is later matched to a different contractor not named at the time you submitted your request, we obtain your fresh, provider-specific consent before that contractor sends you automated marketing messages. We do not sell your information, and we do not share your SMS opt-in data or phone number with any third party for their own marketing purposes. We may share information with service providers who help us operate our site (such as hosting and form processing), bound to use it only to provide those services.
Cookies & tracking
Our site may use cookies or similar technologies for basic analytics (to understand how visitors use our site) and call tracking (to measure which pages generate phone calls to our tracked number). We do not use this data to build advertising profiles for sale to third parties.
Call recording
California is an all-party consent state for call recording (Penal Code § 632) — if calls to our tracked number are recorded for quality or training purposes, all parties to the call are notified of the recording before it begins.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information you provide, including secure transmission of form submissions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to opt out of further contact, at any time — reach us through our contact page. California residents may have additional rights under state privacy law; contact us with any request and we'll respond.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
